Just go.
On the other side of life's challenges, there is a better life.
So when this applies to exercises and namely running, the reward greatly outweighs the risk.
The holidays are coming (essentially here really).
I think that starting new exercise resolutions at the start of the year are fine. That's certainly better than nothing.
But if you were on the fence on whether to start earlier this post is for you.
Don't wait for perfect.
Stop looking for the perfect time or reason to start running. Just go.
If you give into that mental framework of finding that one right thing, you'll likely never find one. There may be something else that you have to cross off before you start.
So I implore you. Just go.
Your first runs won't be perfect. No run really is.
Appreciate and savor the process and not the result.
One of my favorite things about running is that the action is a constant reminder of how to tackle all things in life - one step forward at a time.
Make it easy.
You don't have to run fast on this run. Take an easy going pace. The faster paces will come.
And actually the real metric for progress here will not be how fast you run. What you want to see is how long you can run for. As you continue with your running journey, you'll find yourself going out for longer with each run.
Make it comfortable.
Enjoy the run however you like.
No music? Sure! Enjoy the views.
Music? Excellent. (May I suggest the Track & Feels playlist on Spotify.)
Podcast episode? Why not.
Same goes for running shoes. If shopping for a pair, pick the most comfortable to you. Not what the sales persons suggests.
This is your run. Make it comfortable and enjoyable.
Thank for reading, and happy running out there.

My favorite running video on YouTube right now from my favorite YouTuber. A must-watch to get motivated.
